How much do you have to do something before it becomes an addiction?
Are the levels different for different people and different things? For example, how much heroin, sex, gambling, shopping or booze do you have to consume or take or do before you’re labeled an addict?.
Some people are able to keep their compulsions in check and live a fairly normal life. Their addiction doesn’t impact on their life negatively.
Other’s only need the tiniest nudge before they’re over the abyss and heading into a hole.
Perhaps that’s it?
Perhaps addiction isn’t measured by how much or how often - maybe it’s measured by the size of the hole it leaves in your life.
For those of us with addictive personalities, I think we need to realise we never ‘give up’ our addictions, we forever manage them. If we let our guard down they creep back into our lives. Like a ninja.....a sneaky f4cking ninja.
